SHERPUR: Two children were killed as lightning struck them in Bhatigangpar area of Jogania union under Nalitabari upazila of the district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Mosharraf Hossain, 10, son of Sekandar Ali and Rabbi, 9, son of Rajob Ali, of Bhatigangpar village.

Witnesses said that lightning struck them while they were playing football in a school ground, leaving dead on the spot.

Jogania Union Parishad Chairman Ansar Ali confirmed the matter to banglanews.
