Khaleda in Narshingdi after 21 yrs

FROM NARSINGDI: The opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is scheduled to come here on September 8, after 21-year, to attend a mass rally on anti-government movement.

She last visited to Narsingdi In 1992.

The district town has got a festive look on this occasion. Some 5,000 arches and banners will cover 20 kilometers long Dhaka-Narsingdi highway to welcome her.

District BNP President Khairul Kabir Khokon said local BNP is taking such mega preparation to make the rally successful. The locals are waiting to welcome her cordially as she is coming after long days.

Sadar Thana BNP president Golam Kabir said they are preparing for a stunt. Arches, banner pasting, leaflet distribution, announcing and the place decoration are going on full swing and the stage would be ready from September 3.

He also said the ground is the largest one in Narsingdi and they are expecting around 5-7 lakh people would join the meeting.

The people from all walks of life and activists would come from different parts of the country, he added.

Local leaders are continuously monitoring the progress of the preparation. They want to avoid any mistakes about the programme.

This rally will be the very first one of anti government campaign for BNP.
