NOAKHALI: At least 15 activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Noakhali University of Science and Technology (NUST) were injured in a factional clash.

The clash took place around 4:00pm on Sunday centering supremacy on the campus.

Witnesses said students of Applied Chemistry and Food Technology department were observing hunger strike since morning demanding class starting.

At one stage some Chhatra League men, supporters of Vice-Chancellor swooped on them, triggering clash that left at least 15 injured from both sides.

Of the injured, nine were rushed to Noakhali Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Sudharam Model Thana Mir Jahedul Haque Roni confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Additional police forces were deployed on the campus to avert further untoward situation, OC added.
