MOULVIBAZAR: A police sub-inspector was killed in a road accident in Bhoirabbazar area of Srimangal upazila of the district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Montush Datta Sabuj, 45, son of Mohadeb Dutta of Kamalganj upazila. He worked at Bahubal Thana as Sub-Inspector.

Sources said an auto-rickshaw crushed into motorbike of Sabuj while he was going to Moulvibazar from Srimangal at around 1:00pm, leaving him injured critically.

Later, Sabuj succumbed to his injuries on way to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Srimangal Thana Abdullah confirmed the matter to banglanews.
