MADARIPUR: Three persons were awarded death sentences for their involvement in killing Hafizur Rahman after abduction.

District and session Judge Bimal Chandra Sikder passed the order on Tuesday in presence of two accused.
The convicts are Nazrul Chowkidar, 25, Mannan Chowkidar, 28 and Didar Chowkidar, 38. Of them, Nazrul is still absconding.

Earlier on October 9 in 2006, Hafizur Rahman, 25, son of Joynal Abedin, went missing after giving statement against the three persons in a stealing case. Later, his body was found at a Char of Arial Kha River in Gauranadi Upazila of Barisal.

On October 12 that year, a murder and abduction case was filed with Kalkini police station and police arrested two accused.
