DHAKA: Five suspected snatchers were injured as angry mob beat them at Lake Circus Road in city’s Kalabagan area early Thursday.

The injured are Razib Mir, 20, Mahmudur Rahman Naeem, 35, Ashraful, 33, Abul Kalam Azad, 33 and Mohammad Safal, 32.

Meanwhile, police seized a private car, two revolvers, a pistol and 20 pieces of Yaba tablets from them.

Sources said five men went to the area with a private car to snatch and threatened a security guard.

Later, locals rushed to the spot and beat the snatchers when the guard shouted asking help.

Confirming the matter Kalabagan Thana Sub-Inspector Shamim told banglanews: “The injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.”
