No more murder case for road accidents!

DHAKA: The government assured the leaders of transport workers that no more cases will be filed under the penal code of 302 (killing) for accidents onward.

Home Minister Dr MK Alamgir on Wednesday said that the government agreed with the 8-point demands of Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Sramik Federation.

He came up with the disclosure to the journalists after a joint meeting at the conference room of Home Ministry.

Sources said that the government has not even pay heed to the objections of noted citizens in this respect.

The minister also assured the leaders to consider the cases already filed under the penal code 302.

Shipping minister, communications minister, Inspector General of police, Sramik Federation and leaders of owners’ samity among others attended the meeting.

General Secretary of Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Sramik Federation Osman Ali said that they are not assured.

Though they have postponed the movement, they will wait till the implementation of the assurance to withdraw the movement, he added.
