Jamaat-cops clash at Bijoynagar, 3 held

DHAKA: Activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Chhatra Shibir locked into clash with law enforcers in capital’s Bijoynagar area on Saturday noon.

Sources said Jamaat-Shibir men brought out a procession at around 1:30pm and blasted three to four cocktails in the area. They also vandalized several vehicles at that time.

On information, police rushed to the spot and nabbed three Jamaat-Shibir men.

They also threw cocktails targeting police and fled the scene.

Paltan police station Duty Officer Faujia Khanam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
