Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed his gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his cooperation in securing the release of renowned Bangladeshi photographer and human rights activist Shahidul Alam and facilitating his repatriation from Israel.

According to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing, Shahidul Alam departed Israel for Türkiye this afternoon on flight TK 6921, which is scheduled to land in Istanbul around 2:30pm local time.

The statement said, “A flight took off from Israel this afternoon with renowned Bangladeshi photographer and human rights activist Shahidul Alam among the passengers.”

The Turkish government played an active role in diplomatic efforts to ensure Alam’s release, following his detention in Israel earlier this month.
