BNP leaders shown arrested in 2 cases

DHAKA: Opposition BNP standing committee members Barrister Moudud Ahmed, MK Anwar, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, BNP chairperson’s advisor Abdul Awoal Pintu and personal assistant Shimul Biswas were shown arrested in two cases with Motijheel Thana.

The cases were filed on November 5 and September 24 on charge attacking on police, blast cocktails, obstructing government works and giving directions of all subversive activities.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Media Masudur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The detained leaders were sent to CMM court and sought 20-day remand for each.

Earlier on Friday night and early Saturday, police arrested the five top leaders of BNP.
