DHAKA: British High Commissioner Robert Gibson met Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam at his Baily Road residence on Tuesday noon a day after meeting with opposition leader Khaleda Zia.

Sources said Gibson talked with him over the prevailing political deadlock throughout the country and dialogue initiatives between two major political parties.

On Monday night, the British diplomat met BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at her residence.
