DHAKA: The High Court on Thursday granted interim bail to BNP chairperson’s adviser Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, also Bangladesh Bar Council vice-chairman.

An HC bench comprising Justice Naima Haider and Justice Jafar Ahmed passed the order after hearing.

Former attorney general AJ Mohammad Ali and Advocate Zoinul Abedin moved for the bail petition.

Earlier on January 7, Detective Branch of police detained Khandaker Mahbub in front of the gate of Agrani Bank’s National press club branch.
