DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police did not give permission to Jamaat for holding its rally on Thursday at the north gate of Baitul Mokarram, the national mosque.   

Ramna Zone Police ADC Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.  

Besides, a Sub-Inspector of Paltan Thana said authorities did not give permission Jamaat to hold rally. If the party tries to hold the rally without permission, then it will be tackled with an iron hand.

Earlier on Wednesday Jamaat sought permission to the administration to hold the rally.
