DHAKA: Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan greeted Sheikh Hasina for her re-election as Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the disclosure in a press release on Monday.

In a note to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, extending his warm congratulations to the Bangladesh PM, Tigran Sargsyan has expressed his keen interest to work closely with Bangladesh in promoting economic growth and welfare of the people of Bangladesh and Armenia and for mutual benefit of both the countries.

Earlier, many countries and organizations including India, Russia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Sri Lanka congratulated the new government formed by Awami League.

USA and EU said to provide all kinds of help to the new government.

Awami League won on January 5 general election in which BNP-led 18-party did not participate.
