BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital early Thursday (Sept 12).

The BNP chief arrived at the hospital from her Gulshan residence around 1:45 am.

According to her physician Professor AZM Zahid Hossain, Khaleda Zia was brought to Evercare Hospital at night as the board recommended several tests. 

She was placed in a private cabin following her admission to the hospital, he also said.

Zahid Hossain added that the next course of her treatment will be determined after reviewing the test results.

On August 21, Khaleda Zia returned home after receiving treatment in the hospital for nearly a month and a half.

The BNP chief has long been battling various ailments, including liver cirrhosis, arthritis, diabetes, and issues related to the kidneys, lungs, heart, and eyes.
