Former president of the Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee Shahriar Kabir was arrested on Monday night.

Police arrested him from his residence in Dhaka’s Banani, according to Tejgaon Police Station chief Mohammad Mobarak Hossain.

Tejgaon Police Station OC Mobarak Hossein said there was a case against Shahriar Kabir, and he was arrested in connection with that case. He would be presented before the court on Tuesday, he added.

He formed the Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee in 1992. The committee is a pressure group founded to demand the trial of war criminals from the Bangladesh Liberation War.
