LAXMIPUR: An activist of Juba League, the youth wing of Awami League, was shot to death by miscreants in Chandpur village under Sadar Upazila of the district early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Shahadat Hossain Tipu, 25, an activist of Juba League, son of Harunur Rashid.

Sources said that locals heard some sound of shooting at around 1:00am but becoming panicked, people did not come out of home.

Later, noticing the body, locals informed police station.

Confirming the matter, Dattopara Police Outpost Sub-Inspector Ohiduzzaman told banglanews, “The body was sent to Sadar Hospital.”
