MEHERPUR: At least 12 people, including law enforcers, were injured in an attack of Awami League activists over ballot box snatching incident at Bhabanipur polling center under Gangni upazila in the district on Thursday.

Local sources said that activists of ruling Awami League beat police and Ansar members around 10:45am, as the law enforcers obstructed them to snatch a ballot box from the polling center.

Following the incident, the voting was halted for half an hour in the center and then law enforcers took the situation under control.

Presiding Officer of the center Masiur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
