A Chattogram court today granted a four-day remand for former lawmaker Abu Reza Mohammad Nezamuddin Nadvi, who represents the Chattogram-15 constituency.
Senior Judicial Magistrate of Chattogram, Muminunnesa Khanam, passed the order in connection with two separate explosive cases filed at Lohagara and Satkania police stations.
The police had requested a six-day remand, with three days for each case, but the court approved a four-day remand. Nadvi was presented before the court around 9:00 am today after being brought from jail.
Earlier, on December 15, Nadvi was arrested by the Dhaka Detective Branch police in Uttara.
He was placed on a one-day remand in a case related to the killing of Ideal College student Khalid Hasan Saifullah during the 2024 student movement. He was later sent to jail after completing the remand.
Additionally, the court imposed a travel ban on Nadvi, following a request from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Nadvi, a professor at the International Islamic University of Chattogram and chairman of the Allama Fazlullah Foundation, faces multiple charges in connection with these incidents.
