Banned Hizb ut-Tahrir brings out rally in Chittangong: 4 held

CHITTAGONG: Hizb-ut-Tahrir, a banned Islamic organization, Tuesday brought out a procession at Lovelane crossing and paraded different city thoroughfares.

Police later raided different places of the city following the procession and arrested four activists of the outfit.

The arrested are: Quazi Ahmed Irfanul Ahmed, 20, a second year student of Chittagong Medical College, Mozammel Hossain, 25, a fifth year student of BGC Trust Medical College, Mohammad Hossain, 15, and Badsha Mia, 15.

Police and witnesses said some 30-40 activists of the party brought out the procession at around 12 noon from Lovelane crossing and paraded through Enayatbazar crossing.

Later, they also held a rally at Lovelaine crossing.

Police rushed to the spot on information and arrested an activist - Hamid khan who was snatched by the activists.
