A Jhenaidah court has placed Salahuddin Miyaji, former military secretary to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and MP for Jhenaidah-3, on a two-day remand in a case filed with Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station.

Judge Faruk Azam of the Jhenaidah Senior Judicial Magistrate Court passed the order today after police produced him before the court, seeking remand.

Miyaji was arrested on Tuesday night in Rudrapur, Jashore. Earlier, students and locals detained him for six and a half hours before handing him over to law enforcement.

Following his arrest, he was taken to the Jashore Detective Branch (DB) office.
