RAJSHAHI: A rebel upazila Chairman candidate of Puthia upazila of the district Anwarul Islam Jumma was expelled by BNP for defying party’s decision.

BNP Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the disclosure through a press release on Saturday.

It was said in the press release that a decision was made to expel him as per section 5 (ga) of the party constitution.

The duplicate copies of the announcement were sent to the Organizing Secretary of the party of Rajshahi division Harun-or-Rashid, the president of the district BNP of Rajshahi Advocate Nadim Mustafa and General Secretary Advocate Kamrul Monir.

President of the district BNP of Rajshahi Advocate Nadim Mustafa confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Anwarul Islam Jumma is contesting the third phase of upazila polls in Puthia upazila as a rebel candidate.
