BNP Vice-Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu on Friday (April 18) demanded that the interim government announce a clear roadmap for elections and criticised its handling of the disappearance incident of party leader Ilias Ali.
He was speaking at a rally in front of the National Press Club, organised by the Bangladesh Ganatantrik Parishad.
At this time, Dudu accused the interim government of failing to show real initiative in investigating enforced disappearances.
He said the people of Bangladesh had already ousted a “fascist” government once, and would do so again if needed.
He said, “We welcomed you (Yunus) with flower garlands and we want to bid farewell with garlands too. That’s BNP’s current wish.”
Dudu claimed the government is avoiding elections to prevent BNP from gaining public support and forming a government through fair polls.
