‘Violence created to control poll-results’

DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi categorically said that the ruling Awami League goons with the collaboration of law enforcers are beating and killing 19-party alliance leaders and activists.

He told media at a briefing at the party’s Naya Paltan central office in the capital on Saturday morning.

He claimed that the government is creating the violence to keep the upazila poll results in favor of them.

According to him, in earlier phases of the elections, 19-party backed candidates won only in those areas where the AL activists could not control the voters.

Rizvi commented that no fair election is possible under this government. He also criticized the administration’s collaboration to the AL activists in creating violence.
