RANGPUR: Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son and also IT advisor, on Sunday said the government is committed to supply gas to North Bengal, including Rangpur.

He came up with the assertion while addressing a rally organized by the local Awami League at Rangpur Zila School ground.

Joy said Prime Minister’s son himself would take care of Rangpur. He emphasized industrialization in North Bengal. It would generate more employment in the region, he added.

He further said they would fulfill dreams of his grandfather Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

After the rally, Joy visited his father’s ancestral home in Fatehpur village in Pirganj upazila of the district.

He visited his father’s and other family member’s graves and prayed for their departed souls.

He is expected to return to Dhaka on Monday.

State minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid and state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak accompanied Joy.
