75-MW electricity free if CPB in power

DHAKA: Chairman of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) Mujahidul Islam Selim on Sunday categorically said they would provide 75-MW electricity to the countrymen free if they could assume power.

He came up with the assertion while addressing a rally in protest against power hiking, in front of the secretariat on Sunday noon.

Selim demanded to stop all kinds of oppression against the people of the country otherwise people will come out.

He also said: “We have to prevent the (power hiking) decision of the government as this will affect the price of daily necessaries.”

They hold the meeting in front of the secretariat as police intercepted their march to seize the energy resources ministry.
