National Citizen Party (NCP) has applied for registration with the Election Commission (EC), seeking the Shapla (water lily) as its election symbol.

The party submitted its application on Sunday (June 22) at the EC office in the capital.

Speaking to reporters after submitting the documents, NCP Chief Coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwari said, “We have requested the Shapla symbol. However, we have also mentioned the pen and mobile phone as alternative choices.”

Party Member Secretary Akhter Hossain, Chief Organizer (North) Sarjis Alam, Senior Joint Convener Samanta Sharmin and other leaders and activists were also present during the submission.
