A BNP delegation held a meeting with Charles Whiteley, Head of the South Asia Division at the European External Action Service (EEAS) and former EU Ambassador to Bangladesh, in Brussels on Wednesday (July 2).

Two other EEAS officials, Len Villadsen and Roshan Lyman from the South Asia Desk, also joined the meeting.

Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, BNP Standing Committee Member and former minister, participated in the discussion virtually.

Other members of the BNP delegation included Barrister Abu Sayem, Adviser on Human Rights to the BNP’s Acting Chairman and member of the BNP Foreign Relations and Media Cell; Saidur Rahman Liton, Member of the BNP National Executive Committee and President of Belgium BNP; Iqbal Hossain Babu, General Secretary of Belgium BNP and member of the BNP Foreign Relations Committee; and Mohammad Khairuzzaman Lincoln, former International Affairs Secretary of the BNP’s youth wing, Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal.

The meeting covered several key issues, including the current political situation in Bangladesh, the role of the caretaker government, the human rights situation, and the upcoming national election.

Charles Whiteley expressed strong support for the people of Bangladesh and shared hope that the country will overcome all obstacles and return to democracy soon.
