BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has extended his support to the mother of national women’s football team forward Ritu Porna Chakma, who is battling cancer.

A delegation from Amra BNP Poribar (We are BNP family), led by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and convenor Atikur Rahman Rumon, visited Ritu Porna Chakma’s family today (July 9) at their remote hill village in Mogachhari, Ghagra Union, Kaukhali upazila of Rangamati.

The team conveyed Tarique Rahman’s message of solidarity to the family and handed over financial aid for the treatment of Rituparna’s mother, Bhujopoti Chakma.

Rizvi assured the family of the BNP’s continued support during this challenging time.

BNP National Executive Committee Assistant Organising Secretary for Chattogram Division Barrister Mir Helal, Amra BNP Poribar advisers Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bakul and Abul Kashem, Member Secretary Agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun, and National Press Club Executive Member Zahidul Islam Rony were also present.

Recently, she scored twice against Myanmar and once against Turkmenistan in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers, helping Bangladesh to notable victories.
