BNP was never against reform, instead has always spoke in favour, said party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
He said BNP has always spoken in favour of necessary changes in the political and economic system.
Rizvi made the remarks on Friday (July 11) morning while addressing a programme in front of the BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan in Dhaka.
Rizvi said that many of the reforms discussed by different quarters are already included in BNP’s 31-point proposal.
Highlighting the party’s long struggle, Rizvi said BNP has always stood for broader ideals.
“We are fighting for humanity, equality, justice and the rule of law. Establishing these principles requires a true and genuine democracy. Our struggle is essentially to return ownership of the country to the people,” he said.
