JCD strike at IU withdrawn

KUSHTIA: The strike called by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) was withdrawn at Islamic University (IU), Kushtia on Saturday

Chhatra Dal President Omar Faruk confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier in the day, the student wing of BNP called the strike demanding release of secretary general and secretary of information and research affairs of JCD Islamic University unit.

No vehicles were seen to enter in the campus after 9:00 am.

On the other hand, they vandalized two Jhenidah-bound buses around 8:00am.

Following the matter, University Proctor Professor Dr Jahangir Hossain told banglanews: “We heard that some miscreants threw brick-chips aiming a university bus and necessary steps will be taken in this regard.”

However, Chhatra Dal president told banglanews, “We are not linked in the vehicle vandalism incident. We are observing students strike and general students supported us.
