SYLHET: A dawn-to-dusk hartal, called by Jainta Janadabi Parishad, (JJP) is underway in Jaintapur, Kanaighat and Gowainghat upazilas of the district on Sunday

The organization is enforcing the hartal in the three upazilas on a two-point demand including gas connections there.

JJP convener freedom fighter Abdur Rashid told banglanews on Saturday night “all-out preparation has been taken to make the hartal a successful one.”

“Several other organsiations expressed their solidarity to the demonstration, and the protest will continue until their demands are fulfilled,” he added.

Earlier on Saturday afternoon, the JJP held rallies in different places of the areas in support of the hartal.
