DHAKA: Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya on Tuesday scathingly said BNP chairperson and its leaders do not have any right to stay in the country.

The minister, also general secretary of Dhaka City Awami League, termed the leaders of BNP as the enemy of Islam, democracy, humanism and liberation war.

He came up with the assertion in the tri-annual council of Kotwali and Banshal Thana and Wards No 32, 33, 34, 35, 36 and 37 Awami League at Birshrestha Motiur Rahman High School ground in the city.

Awami League leader said, “We all considered Khaleda Zia’s speech as lunacy but this is not that, this is political diabolism. She is telling lies.”

“She has no politics except lies and conspiracy,” he added.

Maya also criticized Tarique Rahman for his speech that claimed late Ziaur Rahman as first President of the country.

Addressing the function, Food Minister Kamrul Islam, also joint general secretary of Dhaka City Awami League, said, “BNP is not our political rival rather they are our enemy as Razakers were so during 1971.”

Kamrul also claimed that the next election would be held under Sheikh Hasina, in 2019, in line with the present constitution.

With Kotwali Thana AL President Fazlur Rahman Parbat in the chair, former lawmaker Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, vice-president of metropolitan AL Sheikh Bazlur Rahman, organizing secretary Shahe Alam Murad and publicity and publications secretary Abdul Haque Sabuj were among others present in council.
