Govt to export IT experts

DHAKA: The government has a plan to export human resources who are expert in information technology.

Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui came up with the assertion while addressing a certificate giving programme at Bangladesh Computer Council Auditorium.

Information & Communication Technology Division (ICT) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) organized the programme on Thursday morning.

Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui said that ICT is a potential sector. We can eliminate unemployment utilizing this sector. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is committed to build a digital country. The government is working on it.

The minister also said that Information Technology Engineers Examination (ITEE) will play an important role to evaluate the efficiency of IT professionals in the international job market.

With ICT secretary Nazrul Islam Khan in the chair, University Grants Commission (UGC) member professor Dr Mohammad Aktar Hossain, Chief Representative of JICA Bangladesh Office Mikio Hataeda joined among others in the programme.
