DMP approves no venue for BNP

DHAKA: BNP has decided to hold April 28 protest inside National Press Club as Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) approved none of the proposed three venues.

Abdus Salam, member secretary of Dhaka city BNP, confirmed the matter to banglanews Sunday.

Earlier, BNP sought permission from DMP naming three alternative venues to hold rally on April 28.

The proposed venues were Suhrawardy Uddyan, Naya Paltan party office premises or at the in-front of the National Press Club in the capital.

BNP announced to hold demonstration at upazilas, districts and metropolitans on April 28 protesting ‘false cases’ against party chairperson Khaleda Zia and senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman along with killings, kidnapping and assaulting party leaders and activists.

Besides, they will stage dawn-to-dusk ‘mass-fasting’ on May 4.
