DHAKA: A Dhaka court granted bail to acting Secretary General of BNP Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a case of vandalizing and arson during BNP’s blockade programme.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court Magistrate M Waejkuruni Khan Chowdhury passed the order after hearing a bail petition filed by Fakhrul.
Earlier in the morning, Mirza Fakhrul surrendered before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court and sought bail.
The lawyer of Mirza Fakhrul, Jaynul Abedin Mejbah confirmed the matter of bail to banglanews.
On February 28, Jatrabari thana SI Abdullah Biswas submitted charge sheet against Fakhrul and others in this case.
Earlier, Sub-Inspector Pradip Kumar Roy filed a case with Jatrabari Thana for vandalism and arson during a blockade called by the BNP on December 9, 2012.
