BNP standing committee meeting held

DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia held a meeting with standing committee members of the party for discussing current socio-political situation of the country and their further movements.

The meeting was held at party chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office in the city around 9:05pm.

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Dr Moyeen Khan, MK Anwar, Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Lieutenant  General (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, Brigadier General (retd) ASM Hannan Shah, Tariqul Islam and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy were among others present at the meeting.

BNP sources said the party Chief Khaleda Zia is likely to visit the family and relatives of slain city councilor of Narayanganj City Corporation Nazrul Islam, Advocate Chandan Sarker and five others. 

BNP leaders also talked about holding programmes and movements across the country led by Khaleda Zia along with other senior leaders, sources added.

Party sources further said many important issues, including party’s upcoming council and anti-government movement were discussed in the meeting.
