DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Friday paid tributes to late President Ziaur Rahman, founder of the party, marking Zia's 33th death anniversary. 

Khaleda, flanked by party leaders and activists, went to her husband’s grave at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar around 11:15 am and placed wreaths at his tomb.

She offered fateha and took part in a munajat with the party leaders-activists, seeking divine blessings and eternal peace of the departed soul of Ziaur Rahman.  

Besides, Doctors Association of Bangladesh has arranged a blood donation program there.

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members—Nazrul Islam Khan, lieutenant general (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, Mirza Abbas, were among others, present.
