DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia could not attend the food distribution program for her ailment on Saturday.

Khaleda’s press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

BNP started 3-day foods distribution program among destitute people from Friday on the occasion of the 33rd death anniversary of former president Ziaur Rahman.

Earlier, Khaleda Zia, along with party eaders and activists, visited 24 places in city on Friday and distributed foods among destitute people.

She was scheduled to join food distribution program at other 29 places on Saturday.

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, Mirza Abbas and Nazrul Islam, among others, distributed the foods.
