JESSORE: Police arrested a Union Parishad (UP) Chairman in connection with Juba League leader Shimul murder from Prembugh area of Abhaynagar Upazila on Sunday noon.

The arrestee is Shirajul Islam Mannu, 42, UP chairman of Prembugh and son of Syed Aktar Hossain of the area.

Molla Khabir Ahmed, Officer-In-Charge of Abhaynagar Thana, said Shirajul is accused of Noapara Juba league General Secretary Alamgir Hossain Shimul muder case. 

Shimul was killed in Noapara Police Outpost area on October 27 in 2013.
