DHAKA: Ruling Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud alleged that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and its the then secretary general Dr AQM Badrudduza Chowdhury were involved in the killing of President Ziaur Rahman.

He also said that the duo had become the beneficiaries after the killing of Ziaur Rahman.

Hasan was addressing at a discussion at Dhaka Reporters Unity organized by Bangabandhu Academy on Wednesday morning. 

He said that when Ziaur Rahman was murdered at Chittagong Circuit House, Badrudduza Chowdhury was staying at Zia’s nearing room but he was alive though he was the closest one of Zia. 

Then Hasan questioned about the role of Khaleda Zia after Zia’s murder and said Khaleda did not want justice of her husband’s killing as she was benefited by that killing. 

The Awami League leader also alleged that BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam is delivering uncivilized speech about the government.
