PABNA: A Sramik Dal leader was shot dead by unknown assailants in Chatmohar upazila of the district early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Faruk Hossain, 35, a Union Parisad member and joint secretary of Thana unit Sramik Dal. 

Family sources said that the victim went out of home after receiving call of some people around 1:30am and opened fire targeting him, leaving him critically injured.

Later, locals rushed him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital but he died on the way of hospital. 

Confirming the matter, Chatmohar Thana Officer-in-Charge Subrata Kumar told banglanews, “A case will be filed in this connection.”
