DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi termed Jatiya Party chairman Hussain Mohammad Ershad, also former president, a shameless, hypocrite, fraud and middleman.

Rizvi accused him for distortion of the history giving false information about BNP founder and also former president Ziaur Rahman. The write-up was published in a column of a newspaper.

The BNP leader condemned Ershad in a press conference organized on protest of the writing at BNP central office in Naya Paltan on Sunday.

Rizvi said the people will find in the column the real face of Lucifer in Ershad. The write-up upheld that the JP chair has no commitment, choice, conscience, personality and morality.

“There are many printed reports about Ershad’s conspiracy to takeover the power sometimes secretly, later publicly, after the death of Ziaur Rahman”, Rizvi said.

“He is such a hypocrite that he broke promises taken after touching the holy Quran. He was the main culprit behind much bloodshed. He was not accepted in the Army for his controversial attitude as well as creating division among the freedom fighters and repatriated soldiers.” 

Rizvi claimed that people believe that Ershad was the mastermind behind Zia and Masjur murder and the researchers have provided many evidences about it over the years.

Making question to Ershad, the BNP leader said that who killed the children in the rally driving truck over them. Ridiculing the former dictator, Rizvi further made question that whether blood or water shed from the democracy loving people who were killed by you.

Ershad was an agent of the anti-liberation element and currently he is doing the same thing.
