Govt to be strict against BNP movement

DHAKA: The administration would not sit lazily to keep law-and-order and economic situation stable if BNP tries to oust the elected government in an unconstitutional manner in the name of movement after the eid.

The government would take stern decision to prevent the movement of BNP for the sake of the country and its people.

Awami League Advisory Member Suranjit Sengupta came up with the forewarning while addressing a discussion meeting organized by Nouka Samarthak Gosthi at Diploma Engineers Institute in city.

He also said, “AL is successful in two spheres: in liberation war and in staging movements. Whatever you may say there is no benefit in intimidating Awami League.”

The senior AL leader also termed his party as “headmaster in staging movements”.

The former railway minister also criticized BNP and its allies over their use of language about ousting the government.

He said, “This is not a language of democracy. You could have said ‘we will oust the government through the next general election’.”

The ruling Awami League lawmaker also said not only the government but also other oppositions have to come forward in creating culture of democracy.

Suranjit also urged BNP to leave its connection with Jamaat-e-Islami.
