Juba League leader chopped dead

PABNA: Unknown assailants chopped a Juba League leader to death at Ratanpur village under Ataikula thana early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Baki Billah, 45, president of Bhubaria UP Ward no 9 Juba League unit, also son of Baher Molla of Santhia upazila.

Locals said that assailants stormed into the house of Baki by breaking open the door around 1:00am while he was sleeping and chopped him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.

Later in the morning, police recovered his body after being informed from family members.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Ataikula thana Officer-in Charge (OC) Faijul Islam said that police sent the body to the Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

As Baki was involved with the outlawed party earlier, they might have killed him, OC added.
