Iranian delegation meets Dipu Moni

DHAKA: Iran parliamentary delegation met Dr Dipu Moni, chairman of parliamentary standing committee on foreign ministry affairs, at the parliament on Monday.

Dipu Moni said Bangladesh and Iran has very good relations for so long. The relations would be boosted up in trade and commerce, medical, education and so on, she added.

The former foreign affairs minister further said, “Islam is a peaceful religion,” she said, “So, the extremist activities and misuse of Islam should be abolished.”

The foreign diplomats also said they are eager to assist Bangladesh in education, medical and women development sectors. Parliaments of both the countries can play a vital role in this regard, they added.

Both the parties criticized the genocide and crisis of Gaza. They also hoped that the people of Gaza should get rid of this dilemma.

Earlier on Sunday, a team of six members Iran delegation reached Dhaka to hold a bilateral meeting.
