KHULNA: District Jamaat-e-Islami called daylong hartal at Koyra and Paikgachha upazilas for Sunday in protest against the arrest of district (South) unit Ameer Maulana AKM Tamiz Uddin, also Koyra upazila chairman.
 
District (South) Unit secretary of the party Maulana Golam Sarwar announced the shutdown through an e-mail message on Thursday noon.

The party would also stage a protest rally on August 16 protesting the arrest.

Earlier in the morning, Koyra Thana police arrested Tamiz Uddin from Antabunia area of the upazila in a sedition case.
