GAZIPUR: At least 10 people were injured in a clash between two groups of BNP over distribution of saplings on the eve of birthday of the party Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

The clash took place over a trifling matter while distributing plants after a discussion jointly organized by Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Projanmo Dal, Gazipur unit and City unit at district BNP office on Thursday.

The party leaders and workers vandalized over 50 chairs during the clash, said a spot account of the incident.

With Gazipur unit president of the organization Abdus Samad Mollah in the chair, the function was attended by former lawmaker Alhaj Hasan Uddin Sarker, also BNP central executive committee.
