Nasim slams birthday celebrators

DHAKA: Health and Family Welfare minister Mohammad Nasim on Friday expressed his resentment to the celebrators of ‘fake birthday of Khaleda Zia’, which they observed on the National Mourning Day.

“BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is hurting countrymen celebrating her ‘fake birthday’ on the day when people are grieved as on this day Father of the nation Bangabandhu was assassinated,” he added.

He was addressing a discussion and dua mahfil at Kawranbazar in the capital Dhaka on Friday morning.

Mohammad Nasim said, “Trial of Bangabandhu killing has been finished, some killers are at large. The countries those want to teach us democracy, talk about human rights and now they kept the fugitive under their shelter.”

The minister urged those countries to extradite the killers of Bangabandhu. “If they don’t return them, we will mean that they are aiding those killers” he added.

Presided over by Director General of Family Planning Directorate M. Nur Hossain Talukdar, Health and Family Planning Welfare state minister Zahid Malek, Family Planning Welfare secretary MM Niazuddin, Awami League health and population affairs secretary Dr Badiuzzaman Bhuyan, among others, spoke at the function.
