BARISAL: Police held three leaders-activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, including its Muladi municipal unit secretary, from a house in Hosnabad village under Muladi Thana of the district on Sunday morning.

The detainees were identified as Muladi Municipal Jamaat Secretary Abul Hossain alias Babul Master, Muladi Sadar union president Sharif Uddin and Nazirpur union president Maulana Abdul Malek.

Confirming the matter, Muladi Thana Officer-in-Charge Alauddin told banglanews, “Acting on a tip off, police detained them from the area around 11:00am on the charge of subversive activities”
